Vijayawada, February 18, 2025: YSRCP chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy met former Gannavaram MLA Vallabhaneni Vamsi at the district jail, where he is in judicial remand. Jagan accused Vamsi’s arrest of being politically motivated by TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu and criticized the police for favoring TDP leaders. He pledged to hold those responsible for political vendettas accountable once YSRCP is in power and condemned a police officer’s misconduct during the arrest.
Jagan further criticized the ruling government for undermining democracy, citing Vamsi’s arrest as an example. He alleged that Naidu had intimidated the family of a victim in the Gannavaram TDP office attack case to frame Vamsi. Calling the government a mafia-like regime, Jagan vowed to take strict action against those involved in political harassment when YSRCP returns to power. Several YSRCP leaders were present during Jagan’s visit to the jail.
