Williamnagar, May 28, 2025 – Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma inaugurated a new synthetic football turf in Williamnagar, aimed at promoting sports and providing better facilities for aspiring footballers in the region. The state-of-the-art turf is expected to boost grassroots football development and encourage youth participation in sports, contributing to Meghalaya’s growing reputation as a football hub in Northeast India.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, CM Sangma highlighted the government’s commitment to enhancing sports infrastructure and supporting local talent. He emphasized that improved facilities like the synthetic turf will help nurture future sports stars and create more opportunities for the youth to excel in football and other sports disciplines.
