VVS Laxman to Coach India for South Africa Series: The T20 series against South Africa is set to begin in ten days, and VVS Laxman will take over coaching responsibilities for the Indian team. Currently the director of the National Cricket Academy (NCA), Laxman has previously served as a temporary coach for the Indian team.
Gambhir’s Commitment: Regular head coach Gautam Gambhir will be busy with the Border-Gavaskar Trophy during the Australia tour starting November 22, prompting the BCCI to make this decision. India is expected to leave for the Australia series on November 10.
South Africa Series Details: The South Africa series will take place from November 8 to 15, featuring four T20 matches led by captain Suryakumar Yadav. The Indian squad, announced on October 25, consists of 15 members, making it impractical for Gambhir to coach both series.
Supporting Staff: Laxman will have support from other NCA coaches and staff, including Sai Raj Bhatule, Hrishikesh Kanitkar, and Shubdeep Ghosh, with Bhatule having previously served as the head coach for the India ‘A’ team during the Emerging Asia T20 Cup.
