Visakhapatnam, January 30, 2025: In a major boost to India’s steel industry, Member of Parliament from Mandya and Union Minister of Heavy Industries and Steel, HD Kumaraswamy, received a grand welcome in Visakhapatnam today. During his visit, he witnessed the unwavering spirit of the workers at Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL) and the people of Andhra Pradesh, as the ₹11,440 crore revival package for Vizag Steel was announced. This historic package highlights Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s commitment to transforming India into a global steel powerhouse.
With this strategic revival, Vizag Steel is set to receive a new lease of life, securing thousands of jobs and contributing significantly to India’s ambition of achieving 300 MTPA (million tons per annum) steel production by 2030. The minister expressed his gratitude for the faith shown by the people of Andhra Pradesh and emphasized that this transformation would play a key role in shaping the future of India’s steel sector.
