Visakhapatnam Urges Southern Coast Railway Zone to Begin Operations by April 1

Visakhapatnam, February 14 – There is increasing demand for the Southern Coast Railway Zone to begin operations from April 1, with Visakhapatnam as its headquarters. Locals and experts believe that waiting for the completion of zone buildings at the allocated land near Mudasarilov would cause significant delays, as construction would take two to three years. They recommend starting the zone’s operations without further delay.

Prime Minister Modi laid the foundation stone for the zone’s offices on January 8, and the Union Cabinet granted post facto approval on February 7. Local leaders, including central ministers and coalition MPs, are now urging the central government to begin operations from temporary offices in Visakhapatnam starting April 1, to ensure the zone becomes operational promptly.
