Visakhapatnam, March 10, 2025: Visakhapatnam police have launched “Cloud Patrolling” using drones to monitor isolated areas and curb crimes like theft and drug abuse. This initiative enhances real-time surveillance in remote coastal and hilly regions where traditional patrolling is challenging.
Initially implemented in the North Zone, drones are tracking traffic violations and criminal activities in IT Hills, Beach Road, and Rushikonda. ACP S. Appalaraju stated that reckless bikers would face legal action, and plans are underway to install CCTV cameras at key junctions for better security.
