
Washington, D.C., May 30, 2025 – Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri and Deputy NSA Pavan Kapoor met U.S. Deputy Secretary of Defense Kathleen Hicks at the Pentagon to advance U.S.-India defense cooperation. The discussions covered joint defense production, technology innovation, and regional security, particularly in the Indo-Pacific. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to deepening strategic ties amid growing global challenges.
Hicks acknowledged India’s support for maritime security initiatives from the recent Quad Summit. The meeting also emphasized progress in co-developing defense platforms through the INDUS-X initiative, including projects on jet engines and space technologies. An upgraded MoU between U.S. and Indian defense innovation agencies was also welcomed as a step toward greater collaboration.
