Chennai, March 5, 2025: Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), led by Vijay, has opposed the proposed delimitation of parliamentary constituencies based solely on population, arguing it would unfairly reduce the representation of southern states like Tamil Nadu. The party contends that states should not be penalized for successfully controlling population growth through education and healthcare investments.
TVK warns that such a move would increase the political dominance of highly populated states like Uttar Pradesh, marginalizing southern states. The party urges the central government to ensure a fair and balanced approach to representation in national policymaking.
