Vijayawada, February 11, 2025: The Vijayawada Metro Rail project is progressing with the Andhra Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation (APMRC) submitting proposals for acquiring 91 acres of land in Krishna and NTR districts. In the first phase, two corridors are planned: one from Gannavaram to PNBS and another from Penamaluru to PNBS. APMRC has presented land requirement details to NTR District Collector G. Lakshmi to initiate the acquisition process.
Authorities are prioritizing land acquisition, and a coordination meeting involving district Collectors and Metro Rail officials is expected soon. The Gannavaram-PNBS corridor spans 26 kilometers via Eluru Road and the national highway, while the Penamaluru-PNBS corridor extends 12.5 kilometers along Bandar Road. These developments mark a significant step toward realizing the metro rail dream for Vijayawada.
