    Vijayawada Metro Moves Forward: Govt Approves Land Acquisition for 34 Stations

    Vijayawada, March 7, 2025: The Andhra Pradesh government has approved land acquisition for the Vijayawada Metro project, initiating steps to identify station locations and land requirements. With the first phase’s Detailed Project Report (DPR) approved, officials have been directed to expedite the process in Krishna and NTR districts.

    The first phase will cover 26 kilometers from Kesarpalli near Gannavaram to PNBS in Vijayawada, passing through key locations along the national highway and Eluru Road. A second 12.5-kilometer corridor from PNBS to Penamaluru will enhance connectivity. A total of 91 acres will be acquired for 34 stations and a coach depot, ensuring a 38.4-kilometer metro network for the region.
