    Vijay Diwas 2024: Rajnath Singh Commemorates India’s Historic 1971 Victory

    New Delhi, December 16, 2024: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh paid tribute to the brave soldiers who sacrificed their lives during the 1971 Indo-Pak war on the occasion of Vijay Diwas. Marking India’s historic victory that led to the creation of Bangladesh, Singh participated in a solemn wreath-laying ceremony at the National War Memorial in New Delhi.

    Accompanied by senior military officials and veterans, the Defence Minister praised the unmatched courage and sacrifices of the Indian Armed Forces during the 13-day conflict. He emphasized the pivotal role played by the soldiers in defending the nation and achieving a decisive victory that showcased India’s military prowess and resilience.

    In his address, Singh reaffirmed India’s unwavering commitment to protecting its sovereignty and honoring the memory of its fallen heroes. Vijay Diwas, observed annually on December 16, commemorates the transformative victory that redefined the geopolitical landscape of South Asia and remains a proud moment in India’s history.
