VHP Warns Against Glorifying Invaders, Calls for Peaceful Resolution

    New Delhi, November 25, 2024
The Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) has denounced the recent violent incidents in Sambhal, where Muslim fundamentalists allegedly attacked police personnel with stones, gunfire, and arson during protests. VHP Joint General Secretary Dr. Surendra Jain blamed the unrest on provocative statements by certain Muslim leaders, Maulanas, and prominent SP-Congress figures, including Rahul Gandhi. He demanded strict action, including the invocation of the National Security Act (NSA) against the rioters and their supporters, and called for full compensation of damages from those responsible.

Dr. Jain referred to the judicial order to survey the Jama Masjid, reportedly built on the remains of the Harihar temple, criticizing attempts to disrupt its implementation. He urged those with objections to seek legal remedies instead of resorting to violence. “Violence against judicial decisions reflects a lack of trust in the judiciary and the Constitution. Leaders who incite such actions must remember that blind violence often backfires,” he remarked.

He further warned against glorifying remnants of foreign invaders, suggesting that such sentiments foster division and distrust. Dr. Jain emphasized that patriotic citizens and governments will not succumb to illegitimate demands. He urged protestors and leaders to choose dialogue and legal methods over violent confrontations, cautioning that continued unrest would lead to their downfall.

Concluding the statement, the VHP reiterated its stance that violence serves no one’s interest and can have destructive consequences for its instigators. Dr. Jain appealed for peace, urging leaders to abandon divisive rhetoric and adopt constitutional pathways to resolve disputes.
