Tirupati, April 12, 2025 – Former Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu dismissed concerns about regional parties struggling with simultaneous elections (Jamili Elections), calling them misconceptions. Speaking at a conference on “One Nation, One Election” in Tirupati, he argued that conducting such elections using technology is feasible and would lead to substantial cost savings.
Naidu also criticized political opposition to Jamili elections, attributing it to political motives rather than genuine concerns. He suggested that leaders switching parties should be required to resign, emphasizing that defection harms democracy.
