Ballia: A seven-year-old was allegedly gangraped by two minor boys, aged 7 and 8 in Ballia, Uttar Pradesh, according to the cops. The two boys have been taken into custody on charges of raping the minor girl on Saturday. The survivor was rushed to the district hospital but was later transferred to Varanasi for treatment, police said.
“The girl was admitted to the district hospital, however, then she was shifted to Varanasi following the doctors’ advice.” The survivors’ mother filed a complaint against the two boys, following which a case was registered and the two minors, who allegedly committed the crime, were held by the police and questioned.
As per the initial investigation, it was revealed that the two boys, who are from the same neighbourhood, took the girl to an isolated place and allegedly gangraped her. The incident came to light when she returned home injured and bleeding. Her mother took the minor girl to her sister’s place in Haldi, but her condition got worse and the family then took her to the nearby community health centre. She was referred to the district women’s hospital, where the medical examination was conducted. The girl was then shifted to a hospital in Varanasi when her condition deteriorated.
Senior officials, including SP, CO Gaurav Kumar and Kotawali in-charge Yougendra Bahadur Singh reached the hospital to further investigate the case.
“The two boys were questioned,” said SP Vikrant. Further investigation is underway and action will be taken in accordance with the juvenile justice laws.
