Bratislava, April 10, 2025 – Slovakia has extended its full support to India’s bid for permanent membership in the United Nations Security Council (UNSC). In a statement issued after high-level diplomatic talks between Indian and Slovak officials, Slovakia emphasized the need for reforming the UNSC to reflect current global realities and acknowledged India’s growing international stature and contributions to peacekeeping, climate action, and global governance.
Slovak leaders stated that India’s inclusion as a permanent member would enhance the credibility and effectiveness of the Security Council. The endorsement comes as part of India’s ongoing diplomatic outreach to build consensus on UNSC reforms, with growing support from several countries across Europe, Asia, and Africa.
