Agartala, February 13 – Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal announced plans to establish waterway links connecting Tripura with Kolkata, Paradip, and Visakhapatnam via Bangladesh. He emphasized that under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, the government is focused on inclusive growth, with the Union Budget 2025 providing benefits to various sectors, including farmers, women, and the youth.
Sonowal also highlighted the infrastructure progress in Tripura, including 24 flights and broad-gauge rail links. He noted that the government is constructing jetties along the Gomati River to enhance trade by improving access to international markets, which will benefit Tripura’s agricultural products, including jackfruit and pineapples.
