Union Minister Ram Mohan Naidu Seeks Central Support for Andhra’s Red Chilli Farmers

New Delhi, February 8, 2025: Union Minister Ram Mohan Naidu has called for central government support to aid red chilli farmers in Andhra Pradesh, who are facing a steep decline in market prices. He stressed the urgency of procurement assistance to protect the livelihoods of farmers in key regions like Guntur and Prakasam, where rising input costs and low returns have created significant challenges.

The Minister urged the Union Ministry of Agriculture to implement a procurement plan or minimum support price mechanism to stabilize prices and requested financial aid for the state government to assist farmers. Farmer organizations have welcomed the appeal and are hopeful for timely action to address their distress.
