New Delhi, March 28, 2025 — The Union Cabinet has approved the Electronics Component Manufacturing Scheme (ECMS) with a funding of ₹22,919 crore to boost domestic production of key electronic components. The scheme aims to reduce import dependency and enhance India’s position in the global electronics supply chain by providing incentives for manufacturers in semiconductor and display panel production.
This initiative is expected to create significant job opportunities, improve self-reliance in electronics manufacturing, and drive innovation. The government’s efforts to support local production aim to attract foreign investments and position India as a hub for high-tech manufacturing.
