Tirupati, January 9, 2025: TTD Executive Officer (EO) Shyamala Rao visited SVIMS hospital to check on the devotees injured in the stampede at the Vaikuntha Dwaram token issuing center. The EO confirmed that an investigation was underway to determine the cause of the incident, which is suspected to have been triggered by the opening of DSP gates. He assured that two critically injured individuals are receiving treatment, while the rest are expected to be discharged soon.
The stampede took place at the Byregapatteda token center on Wednesday night, resulting in six deaths and leaving 48 injured. The injured are being treated at Ruya and SVIMS hospitals. The TTD EO expressed regret over the tragedy and assured that the investigation will reveal more details soon.
