Justin Trudeau Resignation Demand Letter: Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is facing severe opposition within his own party. A total of 24 Liberal Party MPs have demanded his resignation. It is reported that a deadline has been set for October 28. This poses an additional challenge for a government that is already in a minority position. The Canadian Broadcasting Corporation revealed that 24 out of 153 MPs signed the letter demanding Trudeau’s resignation.
On Wednesday, the Liberal Party held a closed-door meeting. Members expressed dissatisfaction, stating that Prime Minister Trudeau’s attitude was responsible for the severe setbacks in the elections held in June and September this year. Immigration Minister Mark Miller, known to be close to Trudeau, spoke to the media about this. “This has been a matter of discussion for a long time. People need to bring it to light. MPs honestly revealed to the Prime Minister what happened in the elections. Whether he likes to listen or not, they told him,” he commented to reporters.
On another note, the Canadian government has made another key decision regarding immigration control. It is preparing to significantly reduce the number of immigrants allowed into the country. This decision appears to be aimed at regaining power. Reports have emerged in local newspapers regarding this. According to these reports, Canada recognized 485,000 individuals as permanent residents in 2024. However, this number has been limited to only 380,000 in 2025. There are indications that they are considering allowing only 365,000 individuals by 2027.
In this context, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau posted on X (formerly Twitter): “We are reducing the number of temporary foreign workers in Canada. We will introduce some strict regulations concerning companies. Companies will have to explain why they did not prioritize local hiring.” Elections are scheduled to be held in Canada next year, and in recent surveys, the Liberal government led by Trudeau is trailing behind.
