Tirupati, March 4, 2025 – The SIT continues its probe into the adulterated ghee case at the Tirumala temple, questioning accused individuals Pomil Jain and Apoorva Vinaykant Chawda. The case led to the arrest of Bholebaba Dairy’s former directors, Vaishnavi Dairy’s CEO, and A.R. Dairy’s MD. The SIT initially took them into custody for five days from February 13, but officials reported that two of them were uncooperative.
On February 19, the SIT sought extended custody of Jain and Chawda for further questioning. The Tirupati Second Additional Magistrate Court approved a three-day extension, issuing orders on Monday. The accused were taken from Tirupati Sub-Jail to Ruia Hospital for medical examinations before being moved to the SIT’s temporary office at Alipiri for further interrogation in the presence of their legal representatives.
