Tirupati, February 14 – Four individuals arrested in connection with the supply of adulterated ghee for Tirumala laddus have been remanded to police custody. The Tirupati Second Additional Magistrate Court granted the police custody for five days, following a request by the Special Investigation Team (SIT), which is leading the investigation under CBI Joint Director Veeresha Prabhu’s supervision. The accused were arrested last Sunday, and the probe continues.
The arrested individuals include Pomil Jain and Vipin Jain, former directors of Bholibaba Dairy in Uttarakhand, Apoorva Vinayakant Chavda, CEO of Vaishnavi Dairy, and Rajasekharan, Managing Director of AR Dairy in Tamil Nadu. The SIT has been granted permission to interrogate them from 9 am to 5 pm with their legal representatives present, from February 14 to 18.
