    Ticketless Student from Mumbai Assaults Ticket Collector with Hockey Stick After Receiving Fine

    Mumbai: A shocking incident occurred at Mumbai’s Nalasopara station, where a ticket collector (TC) was attacked by a passenger with a hockey stick. According to officials, the altercation began when the 29-year-old TC, identified as Vijay Kumar, found the passenger travelling in a first-class coach without a valid ticket. The TC asked the passenger to pay a fine of Rs 345, but upon learning that the passenger was a student and had less money, the TC charged him only Rs 150.

    The TC resumed his duties after issuing the fine, but shortly after, the accused returned with a hockey stick and attacked him, leaving the TC with head and ear injuries. Following a complaint by the TC, the Government Railway Police (GRP) filed an FIR against the unknown assailant under sections 121(2) and 132 of the IPC. The GRP is actively searching for the attacker.

    In another news, a person allegedly died by suicide after jumping from the Bandra-Worli Sea Link in Mumbai on Friday, officials said. However, according to Mumbai Police, the reason for suicide is not clear yet. The police received a distress call at 1 am on Friday.

    On reaching the site, they found that a person parked his car, got out of the car, and jumped into the sea. The body could not be found at night due to darkness and the high waves of the sea, as reported by news agency ANI.

    Worli Police Station received information at 7:30 am on Friday that the body of the person who jumped was found in the jurisdiction of Dadar Police Station. The body was sent to Nair Hospital for further action.

    Further investigation is underway, and more details are awaited in the case.
