Telugu Film Chamber Denies Theatre Bandh Rumors, Assures Shows Will Continue Normally

Hyderabad, May 24, 2025 – The Telugu Film Chamber has dismissed rumors of a theatre bandh starting June 1 in the Telugu states, assuring that all shows will continue as usual. This clarification came after a meeting involving producers, exhibitors, and distributors to discuss the demand for a percentage-based revenue-sharing model in theatres. Prominent producers like Dil Raju, Nagavamsi, and Maitri Ravi took part, focusing on strengthening the future of the theatre business.

The Chamber also announced the formation of a special committee comprising members from all three sectors to address ongoing challenges. Secretary Damodara Prasad urged the public not to believe the bandh rumors, calling them harmful to the industry. He highlighted that negotiations are still in progress, with plans to engage government officials, including AP Minister Kandula Durgesh, to find collaborative solutions for the industry’s concerns.
