Hyderabad, February 26, 2025—Telangana has made Telugu compulsory in all schools, including those affiliated with CBSE, ICSE, IB, and other national and international boards. This decision mandates the inclusion of Telugu from Class 1 to Class 10, aiming to preserve the language and promote its use among young students.
The state education department has instructed schools to implement the policy immediately, with penalties for non-compliance. To facilitate this transition, the government has provided textbooks and resources to help students learn Telugu effectively.
