New Delhi ,December 27, 2024: India has exported 200,000 tonnes of rice to Bangladesh under a bilateral trade agreement aimed at supporting Bangladesh’s food security. This shipment strengthens trade relations between the two countries, addressing Bangladesh’s challenges in meeting the food demands of its growing population.
The export underscores India’s role as a key supplier of essential commodities, particularly during periods of food shortages in Bangladesh. Authorities are hopeful that this trade will stabilize rice prices and boost agricultural stability in the neighboring country.
Officials from both governments emphasized the success of the rice export as an example of how India and Bangladesh can collaborate to overcome shared challenges. This move is expected to open the door for further trade agreements in various sectors.
