It appears that Pakistan’s intelligence agencies have collected critical details about this bridge constructed between the Reasi and Ramban districts of Jammu and Kashmir. Reports suggest that Pakistan’s intelligence agencies are gathering information on the Chenab Bridge at the behest of China. Clarity is needed regarding why China is interested in these details. Given the region’s complex border situation, the Chenab Bridge provides India with significant military and strategic advantages. In this context, China’s gathering of information related to this bridge has gained importance.
Construction took a total of 20 years!
It took the government 20 years to complete the construction of the world’s highest Chenab railway bridge. Recently, the first trial run of a train on this bridge was successfully conducted. This construction, undertaken to connect Kashmir with the rest of the country, is part of the Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Railway Link (U.S.B.R.L) project. This bridge surpasses the previous world record held by the Shubai Railway Bridge, which is 275 meters long and located over the Beipan River in China. The bridge is 30 meters taller than the famous Eiffel Tower in Paris. Located 359 meters above the bed of the Chenab River, this railway bridge spans a length of 1,315 meters.
