Chennai, March 5, 2025: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin has opposed the proposed parliamentary delimitation based on population, warning it could reduce the state’s Lok Sabha representation. He argued that Tamil Nadu should not be penalized for its success in controlling population growth through education and healthcare.
Stalin cautioned that the move would benefit highly populated states like Uttar Pradesh, centralizing political power. He urged the central government to ensure a fair and equitable delimitation process that upholds federalism and balanced representation.
