Chennai, December 7, 2024: Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal delivered the convocation address at the 83rd convocation of Dakshina Bharat Hindi Prachar Sabha, Madras, in Chennai. Expressing his honor at the occasion, he highlighted the historical significance of the institution, whose foundation was laid by Mahatma Gandhi in 1918.
Speaking on the role of Hindi as a unifying language, Sonowal emphasized its ability to connect Indians across regions. “Hindi is the language of unity, binding all of us in a common thread,” he said. He also lauded the spirit of Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat, which showcases India’s diversity as a strength that fosters national unity and integrity.
The minister thanked BJP leader V. Muralidharan for the invitation and extended his best wishes to the graduating students. Sonowal encouraged them to contribute actively to nation-building, emphasizing that their knowledge and skills would play a pivotal role in shaping India’s future.
