Dubai, UAE, April 15, 2025: Nobel Peace laureate Shirin Ebadi stated that the recent Iran-U.S. nuclear talks could only be considered “constructive” if Iran demonstrates “political maturity” and acts as a “normal country.” Ebadi emphasized that the success of these negotiations depends on Iran’s willingness to renounce its political ambitions and engage in diplomacy that prioritizes regional peace and stability.
The first round of talks between the U.S. and Iran took place in Muscat, Oman, on April 12, 2025. Both sides described the discussions as positive and agreed to reconvene on April 19. The talks aim to address concerns over Iran’s nuclear program and explore potential pathways for de-escalation in the region.
