Shillong, February 5: NorthEast United FC (NEUFC) director, Tamhane, praised the Meghalaya government’s support in transforming Shillong into the football capital of India. The collaboration will focus on improving infrastructure, fostering local talent, and enhancing the region’s football ecosystem, with the goal of building a stronger football culture in the northeastern part of India.
Tamhane also emphasized the importance of youth development and community engagement to achieve the vision. With the government’s backing, NEUFC plans to invest in grassroots initiatives and provide opportunities for young players to grow in the sport, ultimately boosting Shillong’s football legacy.
