Though the group’s name was not revealed, sources indicated the decision was voluntary and reflects changing ground realities.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah hailed the development as a victory for PM Modi’s ‘Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat’ vision, stating it reflects growing public trust in India’s democratic framework. Shah reiterated the Centre’s commitment to peace, unity, and development in Jammu and Kashmir.
