Taipei, January 31, 2025: Taiwan’s Ministry of National Defense (MND) reported the detection of seven Chinese aircraft and five vessels near its territory, signaling an escalation in military activity around the island. The aircraft were spotted near Taiwan’s airspace, while the vessels were observed in surrounding waters, reflecting increased tensions between Taiwan and China.
In response, Taiwan’s military has ramped up surveillance efforts to ensure the security of its airspace and waters. The MND reaffirmed its commitment to protecting Taiwan’s sovereignty, emphasizing the importance of peace and stability in the region amid the growing military presence of China, which continues to assert its claims over Taiwan.
