Setback for Indian Green Card Aspirants: May 2025 Visa Bulletin Shows Little Progress

Washington, D.C., April 12, 2025 – The U.S. Department of State’s May 2025 Visa Bulletin has brought disappointing news for Indian green card seekers. The Employment-Based Second Preference (EB-2) category remains stuck at January 1, 2013, while the Employment-Based First Preference (EB-1) remains unchanged at February 15, 2022. The Employment-Based Third Preference (EB-3) category has made a slight advancement of two weeks to April 15, 2013.

In addition, the EB-5 unreserved category for India has moved back by six months, now set at May 1, 2019, due to high demand. The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) will follow the Final Action Dates chart for May 2025, meaning applicants must have a priority date earlier than the listed cutoff dates to proceed, leading to longer wait times for many applicants.
