Hyderabad, April 22, 2025 — S. S. Rajamouli is the highest-paid director in the Indian film industry, earning around ₹200 crores per film, including profit shares. His blockbuster RRR contributed significantly to this amount. While Bollywood superstars like Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan earn ₹150-180 crores per film, Rajamouli’s earnings exceed theirs, making him the top director.
Rajamouli’s success is attributed to his massive market value, especially after RRR performed exceptionally well in North India. Directors like Sandeep Reddy Vanga and Prashanth Neel earn ₹90 crores, while Rajkumar Hirani gets ₹80 crores per film. Other prominent directors, including Sukumar and Sanjay Leela Bhansali, earn ₹40 crores per film, with some like Karan Johar and Rohit Shetty benefiting from profit shares due to their production involvement.
