RTI Activist Accuses CM Siddaramaiah in MUDA Land Scam, Cites Safety Threats

BANGALORE: An RTI activist from Mysuru, Gangadhariah, has leveled serious allegations against Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah in connection with the controversial MUDA land scam. Gangadhariah, who previously released documents about the case, claims to possess evidence implicating Siddaramaiah in the scandal. The accusations are centered around the alleged allotment of land to Siddaramaiah’s wife under questionable circumstances. Gangadhariah has also expressed concerns for his safety, claiming he has been harassed and surrounded by individuals while traveling with his family, suspecting the harassment is linked to the release of the MUDA-related documents.

The activist has reported that the documents raise serious questions about the allotment of valuable land, including a 3.16-acre plot reportedly owned by the Chief Minister’s wife. Following these developments, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) initiated an investigation, conducting raids on properties connected to MUDA officials and builders involved in the land deal. These raids form part of a wider investigation into the land acquisition process and compensation issues.

Despite the serious accusations, Siddaramaiah has denied any wrongdoing, but he continues to face increasing public criticism. His involvement in the scandal has drawn significant attention, particularly due to the high-profile nature of those implicated. The ongoing investigation into the land deal has added further scrutiny to Siddaramaiah’s administration.

The case has sparked considerable controversy and concern, not only due to the allegations of corruption but also due to the threat to Gangadhariah’s safety, which raises questions about the protection of whistleblowers in such high-profile cases.
