New Delhi, April 10, 2025 – Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has emphasized that creating a robust, indigenous, and future-ready defence ecosystem is not just a goal but a strategic necessity for India. Speaking at a defence industry event, he highlighted the importance of reducing dependence on foreign military imports and promoting self-reliance through innovation, technology development, and private sector participation.
Singh reiterated the government’s commitment to the “Aatmanirbhar Bharat” (self-reliant India) initiative, stressing that strengthening domestic defence manufacturing will enhance national security and generate employment. He also called upon Indian startups and MSMEs to seize emerging opportunities in the defence sector and help transform India into a global hub for defence production.
