Rajasthan Faces Intense Cold Wave; Fatehpur Records 0.1°C

Jaipur, December 12, 2024: Cold conditions in Rajasthan have intensified as temperatures continue to dip across the state, with Fatehpur recording a bone-chilling low of 0.1 degrees Celsius. This marks one of the coldest nights in the region in recent years. The cold wave has caused a significant drop in temperatures, affecting daily life and leading to a sharp increase in the demand for warm clothing and heating appliances.

Meteorological officials have issued an alert for several districts in Rajasthan, including Churu, Sikar, and Jaipur, where temperatures are expected to remain below normal in the coming days. The chilly conditions have been attributed to the ongoing western disturbance, which has brought in cold winds from the north. The cold spell is also causing widespread fog in the morning, reducing visibility on roads and affecting air travel.

Residents have been advised to take precautions, including wearing warm clothing and limiting exposure to the harsh weather. Authorities are also monitoring the situation closely, with plans to distribute blankets and provide shelter for those in need, especially the homeless and vulnerable communities.
