Lahore, February 20, 2025 – The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has once again requested permission to hold a public gathering at Minar-i-Pakistan after previous denials by authorities. The party emphasized its democratic right to organize peaceful assemblies, citing security concerns and scheduling conflicts, including the ICC Champions Trophy, as reasons for earlier rejections.
In response to repeated denials, PTI is considering alternative venues such as Liberty Chowk, Azadi Chowk, and Mall Road for protests. Party leaders argue that restricting their gatherings violates democratic principles and could strengthen their movement.
