
New Delhi, February 20, 2025 – President Droupadi Murmu extended her greetings to the people of Arunachal Pradesh and Mizoram on their Statehood Day, praising their cultural heritage and contributions to the nation. She highlighted Arunachal Pradesh’s strategic significance and Mizoram’s commitment to peace and development, expressing confidence in their continued progress.
Both states attained full statehood on February 20, 1987, under the 53rd Amendment to the Constitution. Celebrations included cultural events, parades, and official programs. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other leaders also conveyed their best wishes, reaffirming the government’s commitment to their development.
