Chennai, April 3, 2025 – Tamil Nadu BJP Chief K. Annamalai criticized the DMK for protesting against the Waqf (Amendment) Bill, 2025, in the state assembly, calling it a “predictable misadventure.” He accused the DMK of political theatrics and argued that the bill promotes transparency and accountability in waqf property management.
The DMK, however, claimed the bill was an attack on minority rights. Annamalai dismissed these concerns, asserting that the amendments prevent arbitrary land claims and ensure better oversight. He urged the opposition to focus on constructive discussions instead of disruptive protests.
