Chennai, India, February 3, 2025 – The makers of Kannappa, starring Manchu Vishnu, have unveiled Prabhas’ first look as Rudra, describing him as the “Pralayakaala Rudra, Trikaala Margadarshaka, and Shivaajna Paripaalaka.” The film, inspired by Bhakta Kannappa’s legend, is directed by Mukesh Kumar Singh and features Preethi Mukundan as the female lead, with Akshay Kumar portraying Lord Shiva. It is set for a worldwide release on April 25.
Shot primarily in New Zealand to capture the third-century setting, the film boasts a star-studded cast, including Mohanlal, Shiva Rajkumar, R. Sarathkumar, and Brahmanandam. Initially rumored to feature Nayanthara as Parvati, the role is officially played by Kajal Aggarwal. The first glimpse of Prabhas’ character has created a buzz, with fans eagerly awaiting the film’s release.
