East Godavari, February 15, 2025: Police in Bikkavolu arrested five individuals for producing counterfeit currency worth ₹1.06 crore. The arrested suspects are Chittoor Haribabu, Paripoorna Srinivas, Chekatla Yedukondalu, Donepudi Madhu, and Karri Manikumar. Authorities also seized printing materials and Xerox machines used in the operation.
SP Narasimha Kishore revealed that the gang circulated fake notes in local businesses, with printing equipment traced to Guntur. The suspects turned to counterfeiting after facing financial losses in the sweet and textile sectors. The investigation continues, and authorities are looking into the possible involvement of a larger gang.
