Amaravati, December 10, 2024: Construction of the diaphragm wall for the Polavaram Irrigation Project is set to begin in January 2025, marking a crucial step toward the project’s completion. This phase is essential for reinforcing the structure and preventing water seepage, ensuring the long-term stability of the dam and its infrastructure.
The Central government has emphasized the urgency of starting the work to keep the project on track and expedite its benefits to the region’s agricultural communities.
Upon completion, the Polavaram project will significantly enhance irrigation infrastructure in Andhra Pradesh, improving agricultural productivity and water management, providing much-needed resources to farmers and strengthening the overall water supply system.
