Gilgit-Baltistan, February 27, 2025 – The People of Gilgit-Baltistan (PoGB) Council has urged Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to address the ongoing Diamer-Bhasha Dam protests, where locals are demanding fair land compensation and better rehabilitation measures. Protesters claim they have not received promised benefits, leading to growing unrest in the region.
The PoGB Council has called for transparent dialogue between the government and affected communities to prevent escalation. Demonstrators insist on urgent federal intervention to resolve their grievances, as tensions continue to rise.
