Srinagar, January 9, 2025: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the Z-Morh tunnel in Kashmir on January 13, ensuring all-weather connectivity to Ladakh. The project, which faced setbacks such as a militant attack by Lashkar-e-Toiba in October 2024, resulting in seven fatalities, is crucial for the region’s development.
The tunnel’s opening is a demonstration of the government’s commitment to completing key infrastructure projects despite setbacks. It will provide an essential link between Srinagar and Leh, improving connectivity, especially during the winter when traditional routes are closed.
