PM Modi to Launch India’s Largest Green Hydrogen Hub in Andhra Pradesh

Visakhapatnam: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lay the foundation stone for India’s largest green hydrogen hub on November 29 in Pudimadaka, Atchutapuram mandal, Anakapalle district. Developed by NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL), this landmark project is set to propel India’s green hydrogen mission forward and establish the country as a leader in the global green energy sector.

The Pudimadaka hub is a critical part of the Green Hydrogen Mission launched in 2021, which aims to produce 5 million metric tonnes of green hydrogen annually by 2030. Covering 1,600 acres, the facility represents a significant milestone for Andhra Pradesh, making the state a major contributor to India’s sustainable energy goals.

With an estimated investment of Rs 1,85,000 crore, the hub is expected to produce 1,500 tonnes of green hydrogen daily. Additionally, it will generate 4,500 tonnes of green ammonia, 1,500 tonnes of green methanol, and 1,500 tonnes of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) daily, demonstrating a comprehensive approach to green energy production.

The project will feature an advanced desalination plant capable of processing 80 million litres of water per day, a GIS substation for efficient power management, and robust port logistics to support its operations. The initiative underscores India’s commitment to achieving energy self-sufficiency and addressing climate challenges through innovative and large-scale green energy solutions.
