
New Delhi, March 29: Prime Minister Narendra Modi conveyed condolences to Myanmar’s military leader, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, following the recent 7.7-magnitude earthquake. Reaffirming India’s solidarity, Modi announced ‘Operation Brahma’ to provide emergency relief assistance.
Under this initiative, India has sent 15 tonnes of relief materials, including essential supplies, to Yangon via an Indian Air Force C-130J aircraft. The aid was handed over by Indian Ambassador Abhay Thakur to Yangon’s Chief Minister, U Soe Thein, with more consignments expected to follow soon.
