New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Greek counterpart, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, expressed appreciation for the growing momentum in India-Greece bilateral relations, following recent high-level exchanges between the two nations.
In an official statement on Saturday, it was reported that both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening the India-Greece strategic partnership. During a congratulatory call to Modi on his recent re-election, Mitsotakis praised India’s democratic success and reiterated Greece’s strong ties with India.
The two leaders reviewed progress in various sectors, including trade, defense, shipping, and connectivity, building on discussions initiated during Mitsotakis’s visit to India earlier this year. Both Modi and Mitsotakis also exchanged views on key regional and global issues, with a particular focus on the proposed IMEEC (India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor) and recent developments in West Asia. The IMEEC initiative, intended to bolster economic integration and transportation links between Asia, the Middle East, and Europe, has the potential to transform trade dynamics in the region.
Moreover, Modi and Mitsotakis emphasized the importance of peaceful cooperation and sustainable economic growth, given the complex geopolitical landscape. They expressed mutual interest in supporting global stability and advancing collaboration in technology, renewable energy, and infrastructure development.
