Rawalpindi, Pakistan, February 25, 2025—The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has taken serious note of a security breach during the ICC Champions Trophy match between New Zealand and Bangladesh in Rawalpindi. A spectator invaded the pitch and approached New Zealand’s Rachin Ravindra before being quickly apprehended, arrested, and permanently banned from all cricket venues in Pakistan.
In response, the PCB has announced stricter security measures, including increased personnel around the playing area and tighter access controls at venues. The board is working with local security agencies to reinforce protocols and ensure player and official safety remains a top priority.
